Horror moment ferocious black bear chases screaming boy, 11, into store before leaping over counter to get at him
THIS is the terrifying moment a colossal black bear followed an 11-year-old boy into a Family Dollar store in Pennsylvania.
Cole Frazee was going to check what was taking his father so long after he popped in to grab a few things.
It was only then that the 11-year-old noticed the apex predator looking at him.
The bear quickly began to give chase, forcing the young boy to rush into the store in search of cover.
“When it runs after me, I turn around, I run in the store, I’m screaming and stuff,” said Frazee.
“The thing was like a foot and a half away from me.”

“I was like, ‘I’m probably going to get eaten by a bear,” Frazee added.
“I took a left and the bear went straight.”
Frazee quickly raced up and down the aisle in search of cover.
Accompanied by the cashier – the only other person in the store – the pair waited until the bear’s back was turned.
They then leaped over the counter and out the exit before the beast had time to realise what happened.
“She grabbed her coast, the keys and the phone and we ran out of there,” Frazee said.
“When we ran out of there, we all got in the car.”
The bear can then be seen on CCTV leaping over the counter where the pair had just been moments earlier.
The beast then wandered around the store for about 10 minutes before finding making its way out the store.
Meanwhile, Frazee hid outside in a locked car, where he says he finally felt safe.
“I was relieved,” said Frazee.
“It was definitely a crazy experience.”
Frazee said that when his friends found out what happened, they couldn’t believe it.
According to the National Wildlife Federation, large male black bears can weigh up to 600 pounds.
By comparison, their female counterparts rarely weigh in excess of 200 pounds.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission warned that bears are actively searching for food at this time of year.
This can lead both dangerous and unexpected encounters with members of the public.
This comes after it was revealed that Japan is in the midst of a bear crisis.
The government are deploying soldier to help deal with an unprecedented wave of fatal attacks.
Earlier this month, 79-year-old Kiyo Goto, was found dead in a forested mountain area of Akita Prefecture.
